PROCLAMATION

03/07 ENTREPRENEURSHIP WORKS

The federal Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000 (PL 106-393) expired last September. The Act – providing more than $200 million a year to 36 Oregon counties and 198 school districts will not likely be renewed.

01/07 ENTREPRENEURS: A KEY TO OREGON’S HEALTHY ECONOMY

SALEM, OR…Rural Oregon Day, an annual event scheduled for Feb. 12th in Salem, is traditionally the day when the Legislature gets steeped in rural affairs. It is a time for getting updated and sometimes upbraided. It is a day for the needs, desires and dreams of those from afar to be discovered and discussed anew.

11/06 WHY DOES ENTREPRENEURSHIP MATTER?

Oregon was one of six regions to receive a $2 million grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. Kellogg’s purpose is to reinvigorate rural economies by developing a rural entrepreneurship development system to be duplicated nationwide.

09/06 FOLLOW THE MONEY

Connecting Oregon for Rural Entrepreneurship Uses Grant to Support Rural Business Without rural enterprise, where would America get its breakfast cereal or our daily bread? CORE (Connecting Oregon for Rural Entrepreneurship) is a $2 million, W.K. Kellogg Foundation sponsored economic development project to reinvigorate rural entrepreneurship, one of six such programs funded in the US; the sum of which will constitute seed stock for a new generation of diverse, home-grown rural businesses for America.
